Drought in Kansas is limiting the amount of forage available to cow/calf producers and a management practice, which need to be considered in the early weaning of calves. Studies have shown in intensively managed, early-weaned systems, more forage can be saved for cows, cows can improve body condition score (BCS) and calves can perform well in the feedlot.

The Coronavirus Food Assistance Program (CFAP) has paid $5.87 billion directly to farmers, and USDA has spent another $2.67 billion on food-aid boxes nationally. Lawmakers and others are raising questions about how USDA determines who gets that aid.
December corn is down 3/4 cent per bushel, November soybeans are up 4 1/4 cents, and September KC wheat is up 2 1/2 cents.
Firm losses Tuesday in all livestock markets sparked underlying concerns that buyer momentum seen at the end of last week was quickly slipping away. The renewed weakness across the complex rekindled bearish market concerns in all livestock trade.
